Firestorm Galaxy in Moreno Valley Closes Its Doors Permanently

It’s the end of an era for the Inland Empire’s parkour and circus arts community. Firestorm Galaxy, a multi-sport training facility located in Moreno Valley, has officially shut its doors. The closure came just shy of the company’s 12th anniversary.

Firestorm Galaxy was a sprawling 10,000+ square foot facility that brought together a unique blend of athletic disciplines under one roof. From trampoline and gymnastics to aerial silks, breakdancing, and parkour, Firestorm created a space for movement of all kinds. It served not only as a gym, but as a gathering point for creative athletes and performers across Southern California.

Operating a facility of this size and variety can be a monumental challenge. Each sport requires its own specialized equipment, safety protocols, curriculum, and a dedicated team of coaches.

When combined with the high monthly cost of commercial rent and day-to-day operational pressures, running such a complex business can be incredibly difficult to sustain long-term. Sources close to the business say that Firestorm struggled with profitability for many years, ultimately leading to its permanent closure.

As part of this transition, Firestorm’s General Manager, Summer Sparrow, has announced their next chapter: opening a new circus arts training space called The Bloom Collective. This new studio will focus on circus and aerial arts in a more intimate setting. Encouragingly, Firestorm’s ownership has shown public support for Summer’s new venture, even placing a link to Bloom’s website on Firestorm Galaxy’s home page. You can learn more about Bloom at bloomcircuscollective.com.

At Freedom in Motion, we extend our condolences to the Firestorm team, their students, and the broader community who made the Moreno Valley location a vibrant hub of movement.

We also offer our heartfelt thanks to Firestorm for helping to grow the parkour community here in the Inland Empire.

Over the past six years, it has been a joy to see Firestorm’s students and coaches attending events at Freedom in Motion and training alongside our community at outdoor jams and competitions. Likewise, attending Firestorm’s own events in MoVal was always a highlight.
