The city of Perris, California, is considering building a parkour park, and we're thrilled to announce that the United States Parkour Association (USPK) is partnering with local parkour organizations like Freedom in Motion Parkour Gym (locations in Murrieta, Loma Linda, and Riverside CA) to make this dream a reality.
This initiative aims to create the Inland Empire's first-ever public parkour park, providing a dedicated space for parkour enthusiasts to train, practice, and connect.
Cordelia Hollingsworth, a representative from USPK, recently connected with a Perris City Council member, which led to discussions with the city's Parks & Recreation department. The leadership team expressed significant interest in the project but emphasized the need for demonstrated support from local parkour practitioners and parents.
Building a Coalition
We are now looking to build a coalition of parkour parents and practitioners in Perris who are passionate about advocating for this parkour park. Your involvement can make a crucial difference in showing the city that there is a strong demand for such a facility.
If you are a part of the Freedom in Motion community and have connections with families in Perris, we encourage you to join us in this exciting endeavor. Learn how below.
Why a Parkour Park?
A parkour park offers numerous benefits to the community:
Promotes Healthy Living: Parkour is an excellent way to engage in physical activity, promoting fitness and well-being.
Community Building: A dedicated parkour park provides a gathering place for local enthusiasts to train and support each other.
Youth Engagement: It offers a safe environment for young people to develop their skills and build confidence.
Creative Movement: Parkour encourages creativity and problem-solving as practitioners navigate obstacles in innovative ways.
Get Involved and Learn More
We invite you to join us for an online presentation where you can learn more about parkour park design and how you can help support this project. Your participation and advocacy are essential in bringing this park to life.
